To face the cold winter nights, we haven't found anything better than a warm duvet. At Bonsoirs, we tell you what is the right weight for a winter duvet. We also take this opportunity to give you some advice on choosing the filling. Our objective ? Bring you warmth and comfort!

Choosing the right weight for a very warm duvet

Do you want a warm bed? The duvet is the piece of bedding that will give you that sought-after warmth in the heart of winter. But be careful, not just any duvet! There are indeed duvets for all seasons. On sunny days, a light duvet is enough. When the nights get cold, cold sleepers need an extra layer of thickness. This is where weight comes into play!

The weight indicates the density of filling in the duvet cover . The higher it is, the warmer the duvet will be.

Weight for a warm duvet

A warm duvet must have a weight of at least 200 g/m2. This is what is needed in a heated room with a temperature of 18 to 19°C. At Bonsoirs, we offer a duvet with a weight of 220 g/m2. So we bring you a little more warmth! Our duvets are available in different sizes to complement any bed.

Weight for a very warm duvet

For those who are cold, those who like to be warm while enjoying maximum comfort (without sweating!), there are even warmer duvets. The weight is at least 300 g/m2. Our synthetic duvet , for example, has a weight of 350 g/m2 . Yes, just that! With such a duvet you can sleep warm. It is a weight compatible with an interior temperature of 18 to 19°C. This duvet is also a good solution for sleepers who are not necessarily cold, but who do not like sleeping with too much heating in the bedroom.

Down or synthetic fibers: which filling to choose for a warm duvet?

The filling is, in a way, the insulation of your duvet. Have you noticed that natural duvets often have a lighter weight than synthetic duvets? This is normal and here's why.

Natural down duvets

Down or feathers, if you prefer, are natural fillings. At Bonsoirs, we make sure to offer you quality and adhere to an environmental approach. This is why we work with suppliers committed to animal welfare.

This filling has thermoregulatory properties. A down duvet therefore adapts to your body heat and helps regulate perspiration. We collaborate with a workshop specializing in the manufacture of high-end fabrics. There is therefore no risk of feathers escaping from the duvet: the finishes are neat!

Due to the insulating properties of down, natural duvets often have a lower weight than synthetic duvets. But comfort and warmth are equivalent and the pleasure of snuggling up in a fluffy, fluffy duvet is incomparable.

Synthetic duvets

Plastic fibers are used in the composition of synthetic duvets. We want to offer sleepers duvets that feel like down. So we have worked hard to bring you the best.

First, the synthetic fibers we use come from recycled plastic bottles. They are then blown into the 100% cotton envelope. This allows for a good density of the filling.

Thanks to these techniques, we can obtain a synthetic filling which has the same properties as down. In other words, you sleep warm, sweat-free and protected from humidity. Are you ready to curl up in an ultra-soft and fluffy duvet?

A word about caring for our duvets

To ensure that our duvets retain their full capacity, we recommend that you machine wash them at 40°C. Using the dryer is possible, but with a gentle cycle. By taking these precautions, you will enjoy the soft warmth of your duvets for longer.
