What are the different shapes of a bathrobe?
The bathrobe is available in several shapes:
You will choose it according to your tastes and the wrap you wish to benefit from. Note that the poncho bathrobe is particularly suitable for children.
What material for your bathrobe?
Regarding the material, you will have the choice between cotton, honeycomb , sponge, modal, microfiber, velvet, satin, bamboo viscose... Cotton is one of the materials the most common and has the advantage of being absorbent while drying very quickly. The sponge is also very common and is appreciated for its comfort. This, however, depends on its thickness and softness.
The honeycomb has a very elegant embossed appearance and is easy to maintain. It is also ideal for the summer season. Modal is a natural material, made from beech, which is both absorbent and soft and leaves a pleasant feeling on the body.
The microfiber bathrobe has a high quality of absorption and lets the skin breathe. Additionally, it dries quickly and is light, soft and comfortable. Finally, the velvet bathrobe can be made from a wide variety of fibers (silk, viscose, cotton, etc.). It has a silky and pleasant feel, but is not one of the most absorbent materials.
At Bonsoirs, we offer you quality bathrobes which are made of high-weight sponge (550g/cm2), honeycomb and cotton gauze. You will happily bundle up in the first, while the other two, particularly light, will be perfect for summer. Also note that the terry bathrobes have colors matching those of the brand's towels . You can create beautiful sets for yourself.
And the weight?
The weight indicates the thickness of the fabric. The higher it is, the thicker it will be and will quickly absorb the moisture present on your body. It generally varies between 250 g/cm2 and 550 g/cm2 and you will have to choose it depending on the material of your bathrobe.
Thus, a terry or cotton bathrobe must have a fairly high weight, while this may be less important for a bamboo viscose bathrobe, for example. Your choice will also depend on what you are looking for in terms of softness, comfort, absorption and weight.
How to properly maintain your bathrobe?
To keep your bathrobe soft and comfortable, it is important to maintain it well. A cotton bathrobe can be put in the washing machine at 40°C, like any bath towel. If your bathrobe is made of another material, follow the washing instructions on the product label.
As for drying, check that your bathrobe can be tumble dried. If this is the case, you can add two or three tennis balls to the drum to keep it soft and bouncy. If it is a delicate product, air dry it on a hanger.
