Feeling good at home, finding new sources of inspiration...Margaux Keller lists all the little things that make confinement more pleasant.
Young interior architect and designer, Margaux Keller seeks above all to arouse emotion. To make her creations something unique, Margaux has always relied on 3 key words: elegance, shift and poetry . It was in 2012 that she decided to return to her city of origin and above all of her heart, Marseille to found her own global design agency there. And what a great idea :)
"Make people smile, work on collective memory, like a Proust madeleine"
Good evening - Your confidence, you live it...
Margaux – I have the impression that this confinement comes at a time when it was inevitable, as if we actually needed it. I hope that we will retain positive things: the attachment to the family, the beautiful and well-made things, the precious nature. For my part in any case, I try to get as much positive out of it as possible, whether it's privileged moments with my children and my husband, or a real suspended time to create, draw, take a step back from our daily life a thousand on time.
Good evening - In general, where does your inspiration come from?
Margaux – My inspiration often comes from certain behaviors that I observe, memories, images specific to the collective memory… Anything that arouses an emotion! Then all I have to do is transpose this reference to the past into an object or into the space I'm drawing.
Good evening - Since the lockdown, what has changed in your way of creating?
Margaux - This health crisis rather confirms the absolute need to produce better and to continue my "Collections" project that I launched in 2019. For 1 year, therefore, I have been designing products made by craftsmen with the know-how of exception where the human being is at the heart of the exchanges. We value slow, beautiful and well-made production. It's a great chance to be able to express yourself through this project.
Good evening - Do you have any new sources of inspiration?
Margaux - My children and my apartment, I imagine which objects are missing and I draw them…
Good evening – Your creativity in confinement…
Margaux - Right now I'm much more creative than usual, I draw every day, I've even started linocutting again!
Good evening - In this somewhat particular context, what would you recommend to someone who would like to boost their creativity?
Margaux - A brush, paint, canson sheets. Painting is like meditation, an appointment with oneself, which leads to contemplation, patience, thought.
Good evening - To be well at home...?
Margaux - Do not try to reproduce Pinterest decoration images! Above all, you have to have fun, install objects that you like everywhere, even if they may be in bad taste, mix pieces recovered from your grandmother with models from contemporary designers for which you have one day cracked, and terracotta trinkets brought back from our last trip!

Good evening - A quick word to pass on?
Margaux - Thank you to those who fight every day to face this virus, I hope that tomorrow we will not have a short memory, and that it will also be time for the revaluation of the public hospital. We have a lot of positive to take from this situation, everyone to understand...
