We offer you not one tip, but 3 methods to fold your fitted sheet. Our guide will allow you to obtain a perfectly folded sheet, whether you have a small apartment or a large house. Linen fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases will be perfectly stored.

1. Fold a fitted sheet in two

To fold a fitted sheet quickly , fold it in pairs! Household chores are easier to do together. If you live in a small apartment or lack space, this technique is ideal. Then all you have to do is place your favorite bed linen in your wardrobe for optimal results.

Step 1: Installation

Standing in your room, each take one of the ends of the sheet (short edge). Place the sheet so that the seams are on top.

Step 2: Folding the corners

Place your hands in each corner of the sheet and then approach each other so that you fold the lengths of the sheet in half.

One of the two people will put their corners in those in front of them, so that the fitted sheet takes, once folded, a nice shape.

Step 3: Folding the edges

The person holding the sheet will fold the sheet again, this time widthwise, placing adjacent edges on top of each other. To make a nice fold, put the corners inside each other again. The four corners therefore end up in the same place.

Step 4: The Flap

Make a nice rectangle by folding the side with the elastic towards the middle of the sheet. Once this step is completed, simply fold the sheet again in half, thirds or quarters lengthwise, depending on the size of your closet. Make a final fold across the width of the fabric, aligning all angles well.

2. Fold a fitted sheet alone

If you want to fold a fitted sheet alone , it is better to place your bed linen on a fairly large flat surface. You can use your bed, it could also be useful when ironing your household linen. Cotton satin , linen or cotton percale , this technique is suitable for all bed sheets. Good evenings.

Step 1: Installation

First, spread your fitted sheet on your bed or on a large rectangular or square table. The seam of your sheet should be facing you.

Step 2: The first fold

The first fold is often the most difficult. Position yourself in front of one of the short edges in order to take a first corner. Fold the sheet to place this corner in the second corner opposite, while keeping an eye on the third corner. The latter will also have to go to the corner in front of him (the last corner). So you end up with a sheet folded in half.

Step 3: The Flaps

Be careful, during this step, you will have to get rid of the folds to obtain a perfect rectangle. Fold the edges with elastic towards the middle of the sheet. The flap must follow the corners of the sheet so that the folds are straight.

Step 4: The final folds

Fold the sheet again, to form a square or rectangle that will fit perfectly in your drawers. You can fold it once or twice lengthwise and widthwise. You end up with a perfectly folded square or rectangle, in the dimensions of your furniture.

3. Fold a fitted sheet like Marie Kondo

Do you know Marie Kondo? The video where she perfectly folds a t-shirt has gone around the world! Well, she offers various tips for a tidy interior . Here we share his method for folding and storing a complete set: duvet cover, pillowcases and sheet.

Step 1: Folding the fitted sheet

Once again, you will need to choose a flat surface to lay your fitted sheet on. Place the seams facing you. Fold the sheet vertically, each time placing the opposite corner in the corner facing it.

Make a nice rectangle by making a flap at the elastic. This technique allows you to remove unsightly folds for tidy bed linen.

Then, fold your laundry in thirds, lengthwise. To finish, fold the sheet in half crosswise, then in thirds.

Leave it aside.

Step 2: Folding the pillowcases

Take a first pillowcase, fold it first time lengthwise, edge to edge, then a second time. Then fold it in thirds widthwise.

Repeat for the second pillowcase.

Leave them aside.

Step 3: Folding the duvet cover

To start, you can spread the cover on your bed before folding it for the first time.

Then align the sides to fold the cover in half first, lengthwise, then in half again, widthwise.

Next, fold the fabric in thirds, lengthwise.

Step 4: Choice of storage

From this step, you can fold your cover into thirds again, in order to store it with the other covers. Then store the pillowcases together as well as the fitted sheets in separate drawers.

If you want to put each of your bedding sets together to store them together, you can place your two pillowcases and fitted sheet directly with the duvet cover.

To do this, place the folded pillowcases and fitted sheet directly on the cover, then fold the cover in three so that the pillowcases and sheet are inside. You now have a bed set ready to be installed.

Choose the method that suits you best. The first two being faster, but the last being more methodical.
