Everyone appreciates having comfortable, soft, durable and stylish bed linen. However, there is a wide variety of materials available and it is not always easy to choose. We tell you more about the material of your duvet cover.

The cotton duvet cover

Cotton is the most common material for making bed linen . It has the advantage of being natural and resistant while being very soft. It is also suitable for all seasons. Its quality depends on several factors, namely the fineness of its threads as well as their quantity. In fact, the higher the latter, the tighter the weave will be, giving the sheets or duvet cover comfort and resistance. There are products in percale, satin, jersey and cotton flannel.

Cotton percale

Cotton percale is made from long fibers with a very tight weave (80 threads/cm²), which makes it very robust. It can be recognized by its smooth and matte appearance while providing a great feeling of freshness to its users. This fabric also has great hold and it is not necessarily necessary to iron it.

Cotton satin

The weave of this natural material is 120 threads/cm², which gives the duvet covers an ultra-soft and silky feel as well as a particularly elegant satin appearance. Cotton satin also has a beautiful drape and is very suitable for master suites, for example. It can be used in summer and winter and only requires light ironing.

Cotton jersey

This fabric is obtained by knitting cotton fibers. It is stretchy and comfortable. The advantage is that, if you have a fitted sheet made from this material, it will adapt more easily to your mattress. This is an easy-care fabric that does not need to be ironed.

Washed percale

Washed percale is fresh, light and soft. It is also slightly wrinkled, which will add nobility to your duvet cover . At Bonsoirs you will find high quality percale, GOTS certified and made in Portugal.

Cotton flannel

Cotton flannel is an ideal material for winter duvet covers when sleeping in a poorly heated bedroom. It retains heat and remains very comfortable thanks to its slightly brushed appearance.

Organic cotton

The cultivation of organic cotton is carried out without pesticides and harmful substances in order to best preserve the environment. The material obtained is very soft and pleasant to the touch. As for labels, the GOTS label is one of the most recognized worldwide, guaranteeing very high environmental and social criteria.

The washed linen duvet cover

Washed linen is a material very appreciated for its thermoregulatory properties which allow it to remain cool in summer and warm in winter. It also has the advantage of absorbing moisture, which is very pleasant for people who tend to sweat at night. Its slightly wrinkled appearance also gives it great elegance and there will be no need to iron your duvet cover if you choose it in this material.

At Bonsoirs, the linen duvet covers are made from washed linen from Normandy and selected for its high quality. They are therefore very resistant and become increasingly soft with each wash, for ever-increasing comfort.

Hemp duvet covers

Hemp is a very strong organic plant fiber which also has the advantage of having anti-microbial and thermoregulatory properties.

Polycotton duvet covers

Polycotton is a material that mixes cotton fibers and polyester fibers. Duvet covers made from this fabric are easy to care for, as they dry quickly and do not need to be ironed after washing. They are also pleasant in summer because they are absorbent. In addition, the colors hold up well over time. This material is very practical for children's rooms.

Metis duvet covers

This fabric is obtained from a blend of cotton and linen (45% linen minimum) in order to offer the softness of the first and the thermoregulatory properties of the second. Duvet covers made from this fabric are high quality and easy to maintain at a lower cost than linen products.

Bamboo viscose duvet covers

Bamboo viscose is a 100% biodegradable material. It is also soft and comfortable. It is well suited to people with allergies, because dust mites and other unwanted little creatures do not proliferate there. However, its maintenance is a little more delicate than that of cotton or linen.

The sheets and duvet covers that Bonsoirs offers you are made of percale and cotton satin as well as washed linen and washed percale. You can therefore make your choice according to the finish you want to give to your bed (smooth, wrinkled, shiny, matte, etc.) and your feelings in terms of softness and freshness.
